NUTRI-CHECK NET

The NUTRI-CHECK NETwork to maximise site-specific precision in managing the nutrition of European arable crops

Project description / objectives

Europe is facing challenges in terms of a need to increase crop productivity whilst reducing dependency on synthetic fertilisers and minimising nutrient losses. The EU-funded NUTRICHECK-NET project will establish a self-sustaining, multi-actor thematic network to encourage farm-level adoption of the best field-specific nutrient management practices. Crop Nutrition Clubs (CNCs) will explore the existing challenges concerning crop nutrition in nine countries, evaluating the effectiveness of tools and methodologies – adopting farm- and field-specific "measure to manage" approaches. Decision-systems and nutrition tools identified by National Expert Groups will be collated into the online NUTRI-CHECK NET platform, to improve accessibility across Europe. Initial and final evaluations will be shared across the network to define best practices, which will be demonstrated and disseminated widely.
